This vixen is going back to the beginning. Having lost a whole person before turning 40, the weight started creeping back…insidiously, as it does. Although I kept working out, my focus switched from cardio AND strength to really just the bare minimum and I started to lose muscle and endurance. Plus…potatoes and bread and sweets, oh my!!! And wine. Oh, the wine of it all. So back to the basics for me as I re-embrace the key strategies that helped me last time:
1. WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING I EAT. Period. It absolutely makes a difference for me as it is more REAL that way.
2. Work out 6 out of every 7 days, alternating strength and cardio.
3. Seriously reduce alchohol intake. It’s a fat-burning killer.
Come on, how hard is this?? It’s NOT. I just have to, like…do the thing. So here we goooooo!
Days 'til 50th birthday...

In mid 2025, this fox-in-progress crossed a weight milestone she’d vowed never to cross. That lit a fire under her tail. Her calorie intake had gotten out of control and her gym workouts were inconsistent and ineffective. Time to go back to the drawing board, pull out of the old fitness journals, and pick up the old habits that helped her achieve success in the past!
