Literally THREE days after I finished building this website, and excitedly shared access with Naomi, I developed a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, in the same spot that’s been bothering me since early 2018. This was clearly a result of some recent hardcore abdominal exercises I did. After doing some new research on Google University, I strongly suspect that I might have a hernia—or chronic appendicitis—both of which, I’ve learned, can cause SIBO! And so, I think I’ve come closer to solving my 7.5-year mystery! At this point, I would be grateful to have a minor surgery and put a stop to these years of discomfort. Who lives like this?!
Anyway, I’m bummed out. I was so gung-ho to get this new fitness routine kicked into high gear, and now I’ll have to play it safe for a while—particularly if I have surgery. The ache is lessening, and so I think I should be safe to return to milder exercise soon (mostly cardio), but for now I’m doing a good job of sticking to my other goals: 1 gallon of fluids per day (mostly water), taking my daily iron tablet, a limiting my alcohol consumption a lot. I did treat myself to one extra glass of wine this year ($5 into the Fat Jar). I don’t regret it—after all, there has to be some nutritional value in Vitamin-V (vino)!
Update, one day later:
I somehow managed to lose another 2 pounds, even without exercising! Diet alone can help you shed weight. I would be making more progress with some daily activity though.
