Do Your Boobs Hang Low?
Since the start of Covid, and a shift to working from home, I’ve been going bra-free about 95% of the time. Therefore, I recently started to wonder if I’m slowly training my melons that it’s okay to be saggy. I searched online for the answer, and to my delight I came across several articles stating that wearing a bra does NOT prevent sagging; sagging is primarily caused by genetics, aging, gravity, and lifestyle factors like weight fluctuation and smoking, and can not be prevented by wearing a bra. I don’t smoke, so that’s peace of mind.
However, one article reminded me of something critical. According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, a woman’s skin loses about 30 percent of its collagen (the bounce factor) during the first 5 years of menopause. That’s a major loss of support for your boobs.
With menopause just around the corner, I’m ever more inspired to ensure that I trim the fat on my ta-tas while I still have some collagen left, with the hope that I can ward-off extra sagging. I’d much rather be a flat-chested old lady than one with jubblies that hang down to my knees.
This silly childhood song keeps ringing in my ears:
Dooooo your boobs hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie’em in a knot?
Can you tie’em in a bow?
Can you throw them over your shoulder
likle a continental soldier?
Do your boobs… hang… low?
(It’s very possible I learned that song from Naomi many years ago.)
Anyway, I know what size my funbags should be, as I kept measurements of my body back when I achieved a size I was happy with (which only happened once over the past two decades). I can and will achieve that size again, and once I do, I vow to stay that way!
Mastering Mood in 2026
I’ve decided that my #1 priority for 2026 is going to be achieving a higher level of happiness. Weight-loss and career improvements are also important—and connected to happiness—but elevating my happiness will inspire me and help me to feel more accomplished. When I’m happy, I tend to do more of the things I love: going for hikes, writing stories, playing the piano, and making jewellery. In turn, once I make time to do these things, my happiness increases, then I find greater encouragement to do the things I put off: the gym, household cleaning, and administrative work tasks. It all starts with just finding happiness somewhere… then the fire will spread!
